KAJ-mural

Mural painting of the bus stop, Kaitsor on behalf of Skapa, Vörå municipality and Kaitsor Village Council. The painting is inspired by the nature/culture of Vörå in Finland and a tribute/greeting to the local humour group Kaj. The process of the work has been entirely participatory and inclusive. In the initial phase of the project, I met with students at Vörå Sports Upper Secondary School to sketch and brainstorm ideas for the artwork. These served as a basis and inspiration when I planned the mural itself. In the implementation phase, local people were invited to participate in the painting process. About twenty people participated for anything from a few hours to almost the entire process.
